Team SWIRL is pleased to announce general availability of SWIRL AI Search 4.0, Enterprise Edition - a major release that clarifies and elevates the two core experiences at the heart of SWIRL: AI Search and AI Assistant.
New Names, New Clarity
Starting with 4.0, the two primary interfaces have been renamed to reflect what they actually do:
- AI Search - the real-time federated search interface, now with confidence scoring, star highlighting, and support for long queries
- AI Assistant - the conversational AI interface, now capable of querying any repository in any dialect supported by the configured LLM
AI Assistant: Any-Dialect Querying
The headline capability of 4.0 is the AI Assistant's ability to generate queries in SQL, SPARQL, graph languages, MongoDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and any other dialect the configured LLM knows. This means analysts and knowledge workers can describe what they're looking for in plain language - the Assistant figures out the correct query syntax for each source.
Multilingual Support
The Assistant now supports querying and responding across human languages supported by the configured LLM. Global teams can work in their native language; SWIRL handles the translation at query time.
AI Search: Confidence Scoring and Chart Generation
AI Search now displays a confidence score for each result, giving users immediate visibility into how strongly SWIRL ranks a result. For data-oriented SearchProviders, AI Search can now generate charts directly from result sets - bringing visual data analysis into the search workflow.
